Tawaf & Sa'i — realistic minutes, not brochure minutes

Most online guides say "Tawaf takes 1 hour, Sa'i takes 30 minutes." That is the empty-Masjid-in-March number. In real life the same prayer spans 25 minutes to 4 hours depending on the day, the hour, your mobility, and the weather. This tool gives you the number that matters.

Crowd level = average occupancy vs Masjid al-Haram's full capacity. After Isha and during Ramadan nights, the upper floors fill up; the ground floor thins out 30–45 minutes after prayers end.

Limitations

• Real-time crowd data isn't exposed publicly; this tool uses monthly averages. The day-of-the-jummah crowd can spike above the prediction.

• Wheelchair users: lift queue is the bottleneck — even at "quiet" hours it's 20+ minutes. Bring a companion.

• Ramadan last-10-days crowds break all estimates; the tool caps at +200% but reality can exceed.

• The roof is open and exposed to direct sun for the first lap; bring sunscreen even at night.

FAQ

What's the best time slot?

90 minutes after Fajr (05:30–07:00) or 30 minutes after Isha on weekdays. Avoid 17:00–21:00 every day. Avoid Friday 11:00–14:00 unless you want to do it during/after Jummah.

Can I do Tawaf in a wheelchair?

Yes. The mosque has wheelchair access via King Fahd Expansion. Lifts queue is the issue — go at low-traffic times.
